# Access Moveworks from ServiceNow EmployeeWorks

ServiceNow EmployeeWorks supports automatic sign-in to Moveworks. Users who are already signed in to ServiceNow can access Moveworks through **Admin Tools → Moveworks Tools** without a separate Moveworks login.

This login method uses the existing EmployeeWorks integration and does not require a separate SSO setup on the Moveworks side.

## Current Limitations

* **Supported entry point:** Automatic sign-in is currently available only through **EmployeeWorks → Admin Tools → Moveworks Tools**. Other entry points, including the Moveworks Setup link on the EmployeeWorks configuration page, continue to use the existing Moveworks login flow. Support for additional entry points is planned for future releases.
* **Supported users:** This capability is currently available to ServiceNow system administrators and other authorized users with the role combination listed below. Being present in the Moveworks user directory alone does not provide access to this entry point.

## Before You Begin

### Application and integration

Before using automatic sign-in, confirm that:

* The EmployeeWorks integration with Moveworks is configured.
* **ServiceNow EmployeeWorks Web App v1.5.2 or later** (`app-ex-employee-hub-moveworks`) is installed.
* The **Content Delivery** plugin (`com.sn_content_delivery`) is active.
* The user has been imported into Moveworks through the configured integration, so their ServiceNow identity resolves to their Moveworks account.

### User roles

Users must have one of the following ServiceNow role configurations:

| User type | Required ServiceNow roles |
| ---------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| System administrator | **System Administrator** (`admin`) |
| Other authorized users | **Employee Center Admin** (`sn_hr_sp.esc_admin`) **and** either **Content Manager** (`sn_cd.content_manager`) **or Content Admin** (`sn_cd.content_admin`) |

> **Info**
>
> Users must also have the appropriate Moveworks roles for the tools they need to access. ServiceNow roles do not grant additional permissions in Moveworks.

## Procedure

1. Sign in to ServiceNow.
2. Open **EmployeeWorks**.
3. Select **Admin Tools → Moveworks Tools**.

Moveworks opens and automatically signs you in using your ServiceNow identity. The tools available to you depend on your Moveworks permissions.

If automatic sign-in cannot be completed, Moveworks prompts you to sign in using your usual login method.

> **Info**
>
> After automatic sign-in, your Moveworks session expires after 24 hours. To sign in again, return to EmployeeWorks and select **Admin Tools → Moveworks Tools**.

## Troubleshooting

| ------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Admin Tools is not visible** | Verify the user's ServiceNow roles and confirm that the Content Delivery plugin is active. |
| **Moveworks prompts for a separate login** | Verify the installed app version, the required ServiceNow roles, and that the user has been imported into Moveworks through the integration. Users can continue through their usual Moveworks login method. |
| **A tool is unavailable after sign-in** | Verify the user's roles and permissions in Moveworks. |
