# What is Group Approvals?

Moveworks Group Approvals are a configuration option within Moveworks Setup (for [Group Access](/docs/group-access#approvals)) that allow administrators to configure approvals for adding and removing employees from distribution lists (DLs), also known as email groups.

Groups Approvals can be configured to automatically request approval from the distribution list owner.
